Asamoah Gyan gets angry with Otto Addo for NOT inviting Majeed Ashimeru

Ex-Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has reacted angrily towards Otto Addo for his decision not to include Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru in the Black Stars squad for the double-header against Nigeria.

Addo, who was Gyan’s playmate at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, announced his 27-man for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Kumasi and Abuja later this week and early next week.

The Borussia Dortmund Head of Talent Development overlooked the 24-year-old in his 6-man midfield for the game.

And, the move has infuriated former Ghana captain who has taken to Twitter to bash the technical handlers for their decision not to include the midfielder.

He tweeted: “This guy [Majeed Ashimeru] is the best midfielder in Ghana after Thomas Partey PERIOD. I’ve kept quiet on this but this nonsense must stop. SMH.”

Ashimeru is a WAFA product and plays for Belgian giants Royal Anderlecht in the Belgian top-flight – making 31 appearances this season, scoring 3 times and providing 3 assists.
