Chef Failatu to complete cook-a-thon attempt at 226hrs

Ghanaian chef Razak-Abdul Failatu has disclosed when she intends to close her attempt at the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Chef Failatu commenced her cooking marathon on the eve of New Year 2024.

Initially, she set out to cook for an impressive 120 hours to surpass the current record held by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.

However, Chef Failatu extended her cooking time to 240 hours after Ugandan chef Dorcus Mirembe completed a 144-hour marathon, currently awaiting Guinness World Records validation.

Having surpassed 200 hours of cooking on Tuesday, January 9, chef Failatu has announced her decision to turn off the gas stove in her kitchen at the 226-hour mark on Wednesday, January 10, precisely at 10:00 am.

This will be followed by a grand celebration in the evening to honour her dedication and hard work.
