Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffu has revealed that Medeama SC bankroller Moses Armah offered him a brand new Toyota RAV4 car and a whopping transfer sum to entice him to sign for the Tarkwa-based side.

According to Akuffo on Asempa FM’s SportsNite show, who is affectionately called Gadhafi, it was his boyhood dream to don the jersey of the Porcupine Warriors.

He told Enoch Worlanyo on the SportsNite show that he decided to end his spell at Finnish club FC PoPa otherwise known as FC Porin Palloilijat to achieve his dream of playing for Kotoko.

“Kotoko approached me with an offer and the Feyenoord boss at the time informed me. I didn’t think twice once it was Kotoko because it was my boyhood dream to play for Kotoko. He asked me whether I was sure and I said yes. This is because they had to terminate my impending move back to Finland,” He revealed.

“However, just before I joined Kotoko I held a meeting with Moses Parker [Moses Armah] about joining Medeama. It was at the same night that Larbi Koomson was signing for the club. He offered me a brand new Toyota RAV4 and a great deal of money to join Medeama. But, I turned it down to Kotoko because of my passion for the club,” he added.

“What Kotoko offered me was nowhere close to the Medeama offer but I opted for that because it was always my dream to play for Kotoko,” he disclosed.

Meanwhile, the combative midfielder has turned into coaching and is soliciting for funds to help him complete his coaching CAF License C course.

“I’m pleading with the Ghana FA President and Professor Mintah to help us consider the cost of the coaching because it is too much. If nothing is done about it, some of us might result to soliciting for support to enable us complete the course,” he told Enoch Worlanyo.

“I would also welcome any support from any individual who would want to help me to complete the course because coaching is one of my dreams. I would gladly welcome any opportunity to help me complete the course,” he added.
