The Ghana Sports Online publication on January 18, 2022 bearing the headline “2021 AFCON: Coach Milo freezes out striker Boakye-Yiadom from Black Stars squad – Reports [GTV Sports+]” has been found to be inaccurate and doesn’t represent the true image of events that took place in Cameroon during the AFCON tournament.
The publication was made out of a report filed by Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s Benjamin Willie Graham on the Match Day Show on GTV Sports+.
Legal representatives of the player, who plays for Israeli Premier League side Beitar Jerusalem, have contacted Ghana Sports Online to demand for retraction and apology for the publication.
After consulting journalist Benjamin Willie Graham – the originator of the report from his base in Cameroon and ascertaining that there is lack of merit in the reports, Ghana Sports Online has chosen to rendered an unqualified apology to Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and retract the story.
