Ghana Premier League: Olympics 3-1 Accra Lions – Maxwell Abbey Quaye registers first hat-trick of the season

Great Olympics recorded their first campaign win after beating Accra Lions 3-1 in the many expected Accra derbies in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

Richmond Ankrah scored a 56th-minute finish to cancel out a Maxwell Abbey Quaye 21st minute for the Wonder Club at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Olympics trainer Annor Walker rang changes in his side around the hour mark and the substitutions changed the phase of the game for the Dade Boys.

The substitutions saw the introduction of Frimpong Boateng and Samuel Armah as Olympics took charge of the game with Abbey Quaye scoring on the 64th-minute mark before netting from the spot 4 minutes later.

The outcome of the game has put Olympics in 3rd place while the Lions have dropped into the relegation.
