Ex-Accra Major Mohammed Sowah chairs 13-member LOC for 12th Africa Armwrestling Championship
Former Major of Accra, Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah, has been named as the chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 12th Africa Armwrestling Championship.
The former Major, whose tenure ended in 2022, chairs a team of 13 members who have been tasked with the responsibility of organising and managing the 5-day event.
Sowah is a Social Entrepreneur with over 23 years of work in Local Economic Development and Small Business Development.
He holds an MSc in Local Economic Development from the Institute of Local Government Studies, Ghana, and a BSc in Public Administration from the University of Ghana, Legon.
He is the Founder & Executive Director of the Social Enterprise Agenda. He is also the Founder of MAS Investments Ltd.
Edwin Amankwa, who is the Chief Operating Officer of Global Media Alliance Group, is the Vice Chairman of the committee.
Other members of the committee are Dr. Prince Pambo, Pharmacist Kofi Addo-Agyekum, DCOP Lydia Donkor, Nii Otoo Larkyne, Mrs. Gifty Oware-Aboagye, Dr. Marc Dzradosi, Robert Appiah Ameyaw, Jonathan Lambert Awuletey, Richard Oppong Ansong, Hubert Leo-Mensah, and Rhodaline Owusu Ansong.
During a Congress of the Armwrestling Federation of Africa (AFA) last year Cairo, Egypt, Ghana received a massive endorsement to become the host for the 12th edition of the Africa Armwrestling Championship a qualifying event for the 2023 Africa Games and the World Combat Games in Saudi Arabia.
