Match Report: Dreams FC 2-2 Hearts of Oak – Substitute Salim Adams scores screamer to earn point for Phobians in Dawu

Dreams FC applied the brakes on Hearts of Oak’s two-game winning run after holding the Phobians to a 2-2 drawn game at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Samuel Boadu’s men took the lead on the half-hour mark when Daniel Afriyie Barnieh cracked home a ferocious drive from 30 yards after he zoomed himself into space before unleashing a powerful bullet that beat Godfred Amoh in the Believers post.

However, 21-year-old midfielder Ibrahim Issah registered his first goal of the season just before the interval following a goalkeeping howler by Richmond Ayi who was starting his first league game of the season.

The Believers returned from the break and duly took the lead 8 minutes from the end of regulation time when Ishmael Dede fired into the net to put Dreams ahead for the first time in the game.

But, Salim Adams, who had replaced Caleb Amankwah 19 minutes to the end of the game, scored from a cracking effort from inside the box to snatch a point for the Phobians.

Hearts of Oak are 10 points away from the leaders’ King Faisal who are in action on Sunday against Bechem United at the Ansu Gyeabour Park in the Ahafo Region.
