GPL wrap – Kotoko slip at Obuasi, Legon Cities held at home

Asante Kotoko suffered a major dent to their title hopes after being held to a draw at home against King Faisal on Saturday.

The Porcupine Warriors conceded an early goal after Zubairu Ibrahim controlled a cross to the far post, slotting the ball past Kwame Baah.

The goal came against the round of play as Kotoko had dominated earlier with Evans Adomako missing his chances.

Mariano Barreto’s men kept pushing for an equalizer and were rewarded late in the game after second half substitute Andy Kumi scored a header from close range.

The result sees Kotoko two points behind Hearts of Oak despite playing a game in hand.

Legon Cities faced Bechem United knowing victory will move them away from any late possible relegation scrap.

The Royals started strong and took the lead through a beautifully struck volley by Jonah Attuquaye.

Bechem United grew into the game and equalized in the second half through an Emmanuel Annoh header.
