I pray NDC MPs who voted for ministerial nominees are found and publicly shamed – Dr Apaak

National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Builsa South Dr Clement Apaak says he prays and wishes that his colleagues who voted for President Akufo-Addo’s ministerial nominees are found and shamed.

The Minority in Parliament had vowed to oppose President Akufo-Addo’s nominees but on Friday when MPs cast their secret ballot, several NDC MPs broke ranks with their party and voted for the nominees.

Reacting to the development, Dr Apaak described the events of Friday as shameful.

“I pray you’re found out and publicly shamed, but even if you’re not found, your conscience will forever haunt you. The pain and agony your treachery has caused millions of party supporters and Ghanaians is upon your head.

“You will pay for the tears and sorrow of all those you have betrayed. You will pay for the insults, name calling and false accusations your treachery has brought upon innocent colleagues”, he wrote.

Former President John Mahama has also condemned the development calling on those NDC MPs to do self-introspection and learn to put the National interest above their own parochial interest.

The Minority Leader Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has also said he is extremely disappointed with the development but urged his colleagues to forge ahead and achieve other goals they have set.
