It’s time for film producers to collaborate – Multichoice Head

Head of Corporate Affairs at Multichoice Ghana Limited, Nii Amah Dagadu, has revealed that the film industry in Ghana can record greater achievements if production houses collaborate on projects.

He made this revelation on Wednesday, March 30, during a panel discussion at the National Film Authority meets Corporate Ghana conference, on the topic, “the role of film exhibitors/TV broadcast in the brand placement agenda”.

In his comment, Mr Dagadu had praised various movie production houses for the enormous work put in to churn out great content for viewers, a few of them making it onto international platforms.

However, he noted that outputs could be maximised if production houses collaborate on projects.

“It’s time for film producers to collaborate on projects. Let’s say if Sparrow Productions can work with 200,000, Eagle productions can do same with 200,000, just imagine if 5 of such come together on one project”, he explained.

Mr. Dagadu elaborated that putting resources and efforts together would translate into more quality content, churning out a wider global audience as well as more returns, which goes a long way to also satisfy clients through brand placements.

As a buttress to his submission, the General Manager of Adom Brands at the Multimedia Group, Abdulai Awudu took it further, explaining that the ecosystem in the film industry needs to improve upon its practices by getting all members of the value chain involved in the production processes.

This, he mentioned, better enhances the level of appreciation for various roles and commitment in getting a final product to consumers.
