Hearts of Oak set to lose this top star on free transfer [Asempa FM]

Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak are set to lose one of their influential players on a free transfer as the player has turned down a contract extension offer.

Kwadwo Obeng Junior, 22, has been at the capital club since 2018 after joining from second-tier side Mighty Royals.

The center-forward signed a five-year-old which will run out in June 2023 according to the player’s Transfermarkt page.

He scored 10 goals last season when the Phobians conquered the Ghanaian scene by winning both the league and the MTN FA Cup titles which made them automatic treble winners.

According to multiple reports from the local media, Obeng Junior who is also a former player of Aduana Stars has decided not to commit himself to a new deal at the club.

Popular supporter Abdul Farouk of the Rainbow club told Andy Obeng Kwaku on Asempa FM on Friday morning that the player will exit the club for free.

If he leaves the club he will follow in the footsteps of recent departees like Congolese Raddy Ovouka and Emmanuel Nettey.
