Livestream: Public hearing on LGBTQ+ Bill underway

The Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee has resumed public hearing on the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021.

This is the third public hearing. The Committee is expecting about eight presentations today. Each presentation would not exceed 20 minutes.

About 150 memoranda from individuals, groups and faith-based organizations have been presented to the Committee regarding the Bill.

If passed in its current state, the bill will criminalise Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) and their related activities in the country.
