NPP primaries: OSP declares 6 wanted over alleged vote buying, inducement and others

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a notice declaring six individuals wanted for their suspected involvement in corruption and corruption-related offences during the parliamentary elections organized by the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Allegedly, there were instances of vote buying, with delegates openly displaying on camera, money received from aspirants.

In a social media post, the OSP called on the general public to contribute to the investigative efforts by providing any information that might assist in the inquiry.

The party organised polls on December 2 and 3 in 111 constituencies where it has no sitting MPs.

The outcomes saw individuals like Dr Bernard Okoe Boye securing the NPP’s parliamentary candidacy for the Ledzokuku constituency, a reversal from his loss in the 2020 elections.

Akosua Manu, the Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority, emerged as the winner in the Adentan primary, while her colleague Pius Enam Hadzide was successful in the Asuogyaman constituency.
