Ghana Premier League: WAFA 2-0 Elmina Sharks – Justus Torsutsey & Agyapong strike Academy boys in relegation dogfight

WAFA temporarily moved out of the relegation zone on Sunday after beating fellow relegation contenders Elmina Sharks 2-0 at the WAFA Arena in Sogakope in the Ghana Premier League.

Both sides went into the game languishing in the drop zone but, Sunday’s result puts them out of the zone at least under Legon Cities see through their fixture against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Ghana Armed Forces employee Justus Torsutsey opened the scoring for WAFA through a first-half stoppage-time penalty kick.

The Academy Boys didn’t need much time after the break to register the second goal of the afternoon after Sampson Agyapong his the back of the net to score his 3rd goal of the campaign.

WAFA has moved to 11 points from 11 games which put them at an average of a point per game though with an inferior goal aggregate having conceded 13 goals and scored just 7.
