Obour was the worst MUSIGA President ever – Ras Caleb fumes

Chairman of the Greater Accra chapter of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, has strongly asserted that Obour woefully failed the union, despite the wonderful support he received during his tenure.

He spoke at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, during the launch of Tourism SME Grants by the Akufo-Addo led government, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Ras Caleb explained that successive MUSIGA heads placed their personal interests ahead of the union. He told Joy Entertainment’s Kofi Hayford, “Obour was the worst, because he got all the resources”.

These wild allegations come on the back of the impending MUSIGA elections which have been halted as a result of a number of reasons. Ras Levi who has revealed that Acting President of the organization needs to step down to pave way for the elections, has insinuated that Bessa Simons is on a mission to continue a rotten legacy, handed over to him by Bice ‘Obour’ Osei Kufuor.

The long-standing member of MUSIGA recounted a number of support that thronged the union during Obour’s tenure of office. He lamented that despite those financial assistance, the union “cannot boast of even one plot of land”.

Ras Levi said, “…the popular 2 million dollars from government, $100,000 from Dr. Kofi Amoah, monies that come from Star Ghana, Ghana Music Week activities, Ghana Music Awards from Charter House, etc, we [didn’t] see anything”.

The Greater Accra chairman of MUSIGA believes its ex-president, Obour, should have put monies received to proper use by acquiring at least lands in all regions to aid the commencement of structures for regional offices.
