Seven Ghanaian players were involved in Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League qualifying round. Check out how they fared

Four Ghanaian players were in action on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League for their various clubs.

Three other players saw their clubs in action but did not participate. Below is low down on how they fared.

At the Huvepharma Arena in Razgrad Ghanaian duo of Elvis Manu and Bernard Tekpetey celebrated with Bulgarian side Ludogorets who beat Greek giants Olympiacos 4-1 on penalties after a keenly contested 2-2 drawn game in regulation time. Both players were not involved.

Elsewhere at the Ibrox Stadium midfielder Malik Abubakari came off the bench in the 91st minute to play for Swedish Allsvenskan side Malmo FF who beat Rangers 2-1 and progressed to the next round on 4-2 aggregate.

Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk defeated Genk 2-1 at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium to end the hopes of Ghanaian midfielder Joseph Paintsil who came off the bench to play for the Belgian side who exited the competition on a 4-2 aggregate loss.

Meanwhile young Ghanaian midfielder Edmund Addo lasted the entire duration of the game for Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol’s1-0 win over Serbian side Red Star Belgrade to advance on a 2-1 aggregate.

There was 64 minutes of action for Dutch youth international of Ghanaian descent Cody Gakpo as sealed their place with a 1-0 win over Danish side FC Midtjylland and reach the next stage on a 4-0 aggregate win.

French giants AS Monaco progressed 5-1 aggregate win over Czech Republican reps Sparta Prague. Dutch youth international of Ghanaian descent Myron Boadu conspicuously missed out of the game.
