Suspended all Ghana FA ExCo members for independent investigations into match-fixing scandal – Seasoned football administrator

Experienced football administrator Nana Fitzgerald Barkers Woode, popularly known as Nana Fitz, is advocating for the suspension of all Ghana FA Executive Council members to pave way for an independent body to properly investigate the issues of match-fixing and sport betting engulfing the Ghana Premier League.

The integrity of the Ghanaian top-flight league has been tainted following admission by Inter Allies defender Hashmin Musah that he scored two deliberate own-goals to a foil a plan to fix the final matchday clash between AshantiGold and relegated Inter Allies at the Len Clay Stadium.

The Ghana FA swiftly issued a statement less than 24 hours after the incident on the matter which has courted bad publicity and international disgrace for the main product of the Ghana FA. The Ghanaian football governing body has further charged all players and officials who took part in the said match and have placed all of them under investigations for their conducts in the game which has brought the game into disrepute and raise huge question marks on the integrity of the provide.

But, experienced football administrator Nana Fitz feels the action from the Ghana FA is not enough and is calling for an independent probe into the case as well as suspension of all members of the Executive Council.

“I would like an independent body to conduct the allege betting investigation about the Ghana Premier League. The investigation must go further . The GFA body including the ExCo must all be suspended for the investigation to take place so that we could have serious and better investigation. Culprits must be seriously dealt with after the investigation,” he told Sunyani-based Space FM.

Ghana FA ExCo member Nana Oduro Sarfo told Asempa FM on Thursday evening that the football association won’t issue letter of introduction to any of the parties involved in the scandal until investigations are completed and punishment melted out to everyone found guilty of offence in the case.
