EXCLUSIVE: Hearts of Oak official denies Maxwell Abbey Quaye signing reports [Pure FM]

An official of Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak has denied reports claiming that the Phobians have signed offensive midfielder Maxwell Abbey Quaye on a free transfer, according to Kumasi-based Pure FM.

Several media outlets reported on Monday night that the 24-year-old attacker has switched camp to the Rainbow club after seeing out his contract at Great Olympics.

While the 2021/22 MTN FA Cup champions had not yet confirmed the news, Olympics General Manager Oluboi Commodore insisted there had been no contact between the two parties for a deal to happen.

The reports further claimed that Abbey Quaye is no longer contracted to the Dade Boys with the Head of Communications at the club Saint Osei chiding the player for misleading the club.

Meanwhile, Pure FM have reported that Hearts of Oak’s Administrative Manager and Head of Finance, Hackman Aidoo has denied the reports claiming the Phobians had captured the player on free transfer.

The 1.74m tall midfielder has been capped once by Ghana’s senior national team and was included in the Ghana squad for the 2021 AFCON tournament

He scored 10 goals in 27 appearances for Olympics in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
