BREAKING: Tarkwa-based football club involved in nasty accident

Ghanaian third-tier side Royal Jets FC have been involved in a nasty vehicular accident on their return from a lower-tier league game in the Western region of Ghana.

Royal Jets, one of Ghana’s numerous juvenile clubs, travelled to Huni Valley in the mining district of Prestea, were returning from a league they played against Tarkwa United on Thursday.

Players and officials who were on board the bus conveying the contingent from the trip have been rushed to The Apinto Hospital in Tarkwa and are receiving treatment.

The regional football association is yet to issue a statement on the tragic incident.

It becomes the latest news on Ghanaian lower division clubs getting involved in accident following a tragic case that claimed the lives of over 8 young footballers in the Ashanti region in 2020.
