Why Comedian Bovi ask London hotel to google him

Nigerian Comedian Bovi has revealed he was recently forced to ask a hotel to google him to authenticate his identity.

According to him, when checking into the hotel in London he had been asked to use the card he booked the hotel with.

However, because his wife, who had booked the hotel with her card was not in London with him, he could not provide the card, Bovi stated in his Instagram stories.

“I tell them it was done for me and my wife and she’s in Naija. They made it worse. They think I’m stealing,” Bovi noted.

He added that to compound his problems, the card he had presented at the hotel had also declined.

“For the first time in my life, I said the word(s) ‘Google Me’,” Bovi stated.

The comedian believes the hotel’s actions is because of the latest Netflix Documentary ‘The Tinder Swindler’.

The documentary exposes a man who called himself Simon Leviev, (born Shimon Hayut), the prince of diamonds. He is alleged to have scammed multiple women for over $10million dollars.

In the much-watched documentary, three women said Hayut claimed to be the son of Israeli diamond tycoon Levi Leviev and led them to falsely believe he was wealthy by initially taking them on lavish dates — in one case, a private jet.

Once establishing a relationship, he would then allegedly ask the women to open credit cards in their name for him to use because he had powerful enemies and his life was in danger and told them he would pay them back.

But the women claimed after continuously hounding them to increase the spending limits, he wouldn’t pay them back and they were stuck with significant debt.

Following the documentary, Tinder in a statement announced that Simon had been permanently banned from the dating app.

“We banned Simon Leviev and any of his known aliases as soon as the story of his actions became public in 2019,” the statement reads.

“He is permanently banned from Tinder. In the lead up to the release of the documentary, we conducted additional internal investigations and can confirm Simon Leviev is not active on Tinder under any of his known aliases.”
