Black Stars: Germany-based Daniel-Kofi Kyereh to miss South Africa clash. This is why

Black Stars will be without the services of offensive midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa in Johannesbourg, according to reports from Germany.

Kyereh, 25, earned his maiden Ghana call up due to his impressive form in the Bundesliga II for St Pauli.

The Accra-born midfielder has been training with Charles C.K Akonnor’s side since Tuesday and could make his Ghana debut in the qualifier against Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday.

But, latest reports from Germany claim the former Wolfsburg U19 player will not be on the plane to South Africa due to COVID-19 issues.

South Africa has been marked as a red zone with COVID-19 most clubs in mainland Europe are cautioning their players not to travel to the country.
