BREAKING: Hearts of Oak attacker Afriyie Barnieh and this Ghana Premier League winger earn Black Stars call-up

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named two Ghana Premier League attackers in his squad to face Madagascar and the Central African Republic in the 2023 AFCON qualifying games as well as the 4-Nation Tournament in Japan.

Only two home-based players made the 33-man squad announced by the Ghana FA on Thursday morning.

Hearts of Oak attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, who has scored 8 league goals and provided as many assists in all competitions this season has been named among the attackers.

Fans and football administrators alike called for the former Ghana U20 captain to be included in the Black Stars squad and now he has got his place back in the squad.

He was in the squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at some point when Charles Akonnor was in charge but he was dropped when Milovan Rajevac took over the reins.

Also included in the squad is Bechem United winger Augustine Okrah who has delighted fans and followers of the Ghanaian top-flight league with his explosive form.

The former Asante Kotoko offensive player has netted 13 times for the Hunters this season in the league and has a couple of glittering performances to show in the MTN FA Cup where he has helped his side to reach the final of the competition.
