Egyptian side Bank of Al Ahly sign Ghanaian defender Issahaku Yakubu

Egyptian Premier League side Bank of Al Ahly have completed the signing of Ghanaian left-back Issahaku Yakubu from relegated Wadi Degla, according to Kingfut.com.

The 27-year-old former graduate of the JMG Academy in Accra has secured a three-year permanent move to the club.

Yakubu, who is a former player of Degla’s Belgian affiliate club Lierse SK, leaves the Yellow and Blacks after three seasons at the club.

Wadi Degla suffered their first-ever relegation from the Egyptian Premier League after finishing third to last at the end of the 2020/2021 season.

As a result many of their core players are expected to leave, with midfield-duo Mohamed Helal and Ahmed Said already leaving the club to join Bank Al Ahly.

Yakubub has now followed suit and has now become the club’s third signing this summer.

He made 12 assists and scored two goals in 82 appearances for Degla.
