French side Bordeaux announce signing of Black Stars defender Gideon Mensah

Ghana international defender Gideon Mensah has joined French Ligue 1 club Girondins de Bordeaux, the club has announced.

The 23-year-old spent last season at Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes where he made 21 appearances in the Primeira Liga.

He joins French-born Ghanaian defender Enock Kwateng at the club and both players are expected to start in defence for the Ligue 1.

Mensah, a product of WAFA, is now joining his fourth club in two years after leaving Sturm Graz, Zulte-Waregem and Guimaraes all on loan.

He is expected to return to Red Bull Salzburg who have a contract with the player until summer 2024.
