GFA banned Techiman City because a supporter insulted the mother of a referee – Micky Charles [Asempa FM SportsNite]

Ghanaian football administrator Charles Kwadwo Ntim, popularly known as Micky Charles, has claimed on Asempa FM that Techiman City FC suffered a home ban because a referee claimed his mother was insulted by a supporter.

Techiman City, a Division One League side that competed in Zone I in the 2020/21 league season, suffered a home ban and were not allowed to honour their home games at the Nana Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

City were one of the teams that were relegated from Zone I at the end of the season.

“The referee abandoned the game because he claimed a supporter insulted his mother. And within 24 hours we were banned by the GFA and told to play our home match against RTU in Tamale,” he told Enoch Worlanyo on Asempa FM.

Ntim claims he has quite Ghana football.
