Ghana FA settle on this Serbian tactician to take over as new Black Stars head coach – Reports
The Ghana FA have reportedly settled on Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac to take over the reins as head coach of the Black Stars.
Rajevac, 67, led Ghana to the 2010 FIFA World Cup where the Black Stars reached the quarter-finals of the tournament in South Africa.
A 3-man Executive Council search party has been given a 72-hour mandate to find a replacement for Charles Akonnor who was fired from his role as head of the Black Stars together with two of his assistants David Duncan and Patrick Greveraars following a marathon meeting held at the headquarters of the football association on Monday afternoon.
Milovan was appointed as a replacement for Claud le Roy who parted ways with the West African powerhouse after the 2008 AFCON tournament in Ghana.
The former Red Star Belgrade defender has managed Qatar, Algeria, and Thailand. His only laurel as a manager came in 2017 when he helped Thailand to win The 2017 Annual King’s Cup Football Tournament after the Southeast Asian nation defeated Belarus 5-4 on penalties.
