Ghana legend Michael Essien was the main actor on the night in Istanbul as he conducted the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League draw.
The ex-Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan star’s final picks determined which groups each of the 24 clubs had to go into.
Essien is a former winner of the coveted title with Chelsea and expressed confidence the Blues, who are the current holders, can defend their crown by winning it back to back.
The former powerful midfielder who was capped 59 times by Ghana at senior level conducted the draw together with his former teammate Branislav Ivanovic.
