Ghana Premier League: Bechem United coach Kassim Mingle delighted with Hunters relegation survival

Bechem United coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle feels his side have secured their top-flight status after beating Asante Kotoko 2-1 in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Hunters have moved to 42 points and are safe from dropping to the second-tier.

26-year-old forward raced Bechem into an early through Steven Owusu and restored the lead from the spot 4 minutes before the break after Solomon Sarfo Taylor had profited from a goalkeeper howler by Abdulai Iddrisu.

Mingle feels delighted about his side’s ability to beat the drop.

“This was our surviving match as I told you from the beginning that If we win this match we are out of relegation but if draw or lose then we are sinking. So we came out with all determination to win and we’ve won. At least when we get a draw in our next match we are okay. This was the most important match for us. Once we have won we now have 42 points so I think we are safe,” he said in the post match interview.

The Hunters sit 10th in the Ghana Premier League table.
