Ghana Premier League: Hearts of Oak 2-0 Accra Lions – Afriyie Barnieh and Kofi Kordzi second half goals claim win for Phobians

Hearts of Oak have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone in the Ghana Premier League following their 2-0 victory over Accra Lions at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.

Forward Kofi Kordzi claimed off the bench 9 minutes after the interval and scored the opening goal of the game from a goalmouth melee just around the hour mark.

Four minutes after the Kordzi’s opener, Afriyie Barnieh was played through by Kwadwo Obeng Junior who also assisted the opening goal.

Hearts coach Samuel Boadu handed a starting berth to Gladson Awako while Benjamin Yorke and Ushau Abu all started the game.

The newly-promoted club held the Phobians for the opening 45 minutes but after Boadu rang changes after the break, the title-holders took charge of the game and scored twice to bag the maximum points.
