Ghana Premier League VIDEO: Penalty awarded for Kotoko against Karela United

Asante Kotoko squeezed past Karela United in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday after beating the Aiyinase-based side 2-1 in a tightly contested game at the Len Clay Stadium.

Emmanuel Gyamfi scored the opening goal for Kotoko but striker Richard Berko levelled things for Karela around the hour mark. But, Kotoko were awarded a penalty when Richard Baidoo was adjudged to have fell striker Evans Adomako inside the box.

The penalty generated heated controversy as replays show the goalkeeper got a touch of the ball before making contact with the player.

Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama elected himself and beautifully converted from the spot to restore the lead for Mariano Barreto’s side.
