Ghanaian starlet Darko Gyabi scores as Man City hits five past Derby County in Premier League 2

English-born Ghanaian starlet Darko Gyabi registered one of the goals for Manchester City U23 when they beat Derby County U23 5-0 in the Premier League 2 on Tuesday evening.

Gyabi, 17, hit the back of the net with a clinical strike in the 47th minute at the Loughborough University Stadium.

While the London-born was scoring for the Sky Blues, his Ghanaian compatriot Kwaku Oduroh lasted 74 minutes for the league leaders.

Gyabi is blessed with great technique and an excellent shooting range as well as the vision to pick out his teammates. Regarded as one of City’s best academy prospects, he could get his chance to shine in the first team this season.

The box-to-box midfielder can be deployed in several roles, City lured Gyabi to the club from Millwall back in 2018.

He scored eight goals in 18 appearances for City’s U18s last season.
