Ghanaian wunderkind Felix Afena-Gyan sets new record in Italian Serie A

Ghana’s Felix Afena-Gyan has become the first player born in 2003 to score in the Serie A after netting a brace to power AS Roma to victory on Sunday night.

The 18-year-old had been just 8 minutes on the field after replacing Eldor Shomurodov on 74 minutes and he brilliantly side-footed an effort to the far left to register the opening goal for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Meanwhile, on the 4th minute of stoppage-time, he netted the insurance goal for I Giallorossi as he translated his impressive form for the Primavera side into the first-team squad.

As at 75th minute, the game appeared complicated for Mourinho and Roma who had options on the bench including the experienced Zaniolo. But, he opted to throw the Ghanaian into the game.

And, he proved the difference for Roma with two impressive goals.
