Hearts of Oak fight back to humble Uncle T Utd in FA Cup tie in Prampram

Giants Hearts of Oak staged a strong fightback to beat lower-tier side Uncle T United 3-1 in a round of 64 clash in the MTN FA Cup at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram on Wednesday afternoon.

Uncle T United, bankrolled by former Hearts of Oak management member Isaac Tetteh, took the lead with just 5 minutes left for the break.

The Phobians came into the second-half trailing 1-0 but the deficit lasted for only 4 minutes into the second stanza as skipper Salifu Ibrahim curled home a free kick to level the scoring for Slavko Matic’s men.

Attacker Kwadwo Obeng Junior put the Rainbow club into the lead for the first-time with through a clinical finish.

Benjamin Yorke then sealed the victory for the title holders as Matic extended his unbeaten run to 7 games in charge of the former African champions.
