I failed trials at Kotoko – Hearts of Oak gangling striker Afriyie Barnieh

Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has revealed details about how he was rejected by Asante Kotoko before he joined their arch-rivals.

According to the 19-year-old he tried out with Kotoko some time in his youthful career but he was rejected by the Kumasi based club.

Barnieh has revealed how he joined Hearts of Oak during an interview with Accra-based Joy FM.

“I went to Kumasi Asante Kotoko for a trial but was not successful. I came to Accra Hearts of Oak through my fellow player – Abdul Aziz Nurudeen. I am having the same manager so I was added to his negotiation but mine was to come and play for the coach to see whether I can fit into his team,” he revealed.

Barnieh, who is a member of the Ghana U20 team, is one of the brightest attackers in the Ghana Premier League and has dominated the headlines in recent weeks with his impressive performances for Hearts of Oak.
