Hearts of Oak are about 85 percent through on reaching an agreement with Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to sign a new deal at the club, according to the latest reports.

Barnieh, 21, will become a free agent in January 2023 if he decides not to renew his contract with the club based in the Ghanaian capital.

He was named on the Ghana bench on Friday when a star-studded Brazilian side whopped the Black Stars 3-0 in Le Havre’s Stade Oceane.

The former Asante Kotoko trialist has been on the books of the Phobians since joining them 3 seasons ago.

It is expected that he will commit to the deal once he rejoins the Phobians at the end of the international break.

A Norwegian club reported to be Viking FK have expressed interest in the services of the former Ghana U20 captain.
