Kumasi-based ‘tramp’ Izayman lands himself high court charges for making defamatory publications against highly-respected businessman & President of NPCG Samson Deen
Kumasi-based media practitioner Isaac Ofori, known popularly on sports WhatsApp platforms as Izayman, has landed himself in trouble with the law as the renowned businessman and President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana, Samson Deen, has sued him for causing serious damages to his hard earn reputation.
According to a writ issued by the Kumasi High Court and sighted by Ghana Sports Online, Izayman, a former producer of Angel FM in Kumasi, produced, circulated, and distributed content deemed to be defamatory to the character of the respected leader and successful businessman.
Izayman, mostly regarded by many as a cannon-fodder media practitioner, is noted for publishing unprintable insults on high-net individuals and respectable personalities who express variant opinions on matters bothering on national development.
Deen, who played an influential role in giving Ghanaian fans a memorable experience during Ghana’s maiden appearance at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, is praying with the court to grant him an order directed at Izayman to retract the publication made on Eagle Sports WhatsApp platform and render an unqualified apology to him on the same media on which the defamatory statement was made, and to further publish an apology in three (3) separate publications of the Daily Graphic newspaper and any other newspaper with nation’s wide coverage.
He is also asking the court to issue an order of perpetual injunction restraining Izayman, either acting alone or acting by his agents, assigns, or any other person associated with him from further publishing or causing to be published, circulated, distributed, whether in print, electronic format, social media or any other form of mass media.
