Indonesia have reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup after defeating ‘minnows’ Chinese Taipei 4-1 in the Group C clash at the Saad Al Abdullah Hall on Sunday evening.
Talented No.10 Muhammad Fajriyan netted a stunning treble to ensure that his side cruised to a resounding victory over their opponents.
Fajriyan scored the opening goal for Indonesia with 9 minutes gone.
The No.10 made it 2-0 for Indonesia in the 11th minute and added the third and his hat-trick just 47 seconds later.
Syauqi Saud struck the fourth goal with a brilliant effort to register the fourth goal of the game for his side.
Chen Ching-Hsuan pulled a goal back for Taipei around the 30th minute through a scrabbled effort inside the Indonesia goal area.
Indonesia will now face Japan in the quarter-finals on October 4, 2022.
