Meet Jonathan Giovannoni – the Canadian who defeated brain tumour at an early age to win bronze at the 2021 World Food Championships

Jonathan Giovannoni, 18, emerged the bronze winner at the 2021 World Food Championships.

Giovannoni has enjoyed success at the world’s largest food sports event.

But, his rise to success at the global event has a miraculous beginning from his formative age in Canada.

According to renowned Ghanaian broadcast journalist Enoch Worlanyo, who is popularly known in Ghanaian circles as Prof. Wallace, Giovannoni’s mother offer unflinching backing to him throughout the competition.

But the touching story of the young Canadian is found in his ability to survive and win the war against a brain tumour.

His mother Alina Giovannoni, whose faith has remained an unwavering shoulder of support for her teenage son, believes her son is one of the world’s youngest chefs. Alina doesn’t cook herself but enjoys eating everything cooked by her son.
