MTN FA Cup: Thunderbolt 1-3 Kotoko – Evans Adomako hits brace as Porcupine Warriors advance to round of 16

Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have advanced to the next stage of the MTN FA Cup after triumphing 3-1 over second-tier side Thunderbolt FC on Saturday.

Striker Evans Adomako registered a double with Emmanuel Gyamfi scoring the other goal of the game.

Youngster Philemon Kyei gave Kotoko a real scare when he cancelled out Adomako’s opening goal for the Porcupine Warriors.

Thunderbolt gathered momentum and caused massive problems for Kotoko and goalkeeper Felix Annan had to be at his best to keep the Porcupine Warriors in the game.

After recess Evans Adomako scored his second goal of the game from a nicely-hit first time shot inside the box.

Kotoko took lion’s share of possession after Adomako’s second goal as they dominated play and made several attempt to break the defense of Thunderbolt in search of more goals

Emmanuel Gyamfi scored the insurance goal to make it 3-1 for Kotoko with just a tap in from close range in the 63rd minute from a Fabio Gama cross.
