Reach out, show love and compassion to the needy – KABAKA Foundation chairman urges

The founder and chairman of the KABAKA Foundation has admonished Ghanaians to demonstrate their love towards one another and also show sympathy for the needy in society.

Nana Owiredu Wadie 1, who double as the Nkosuohene of Kwahu Nkwatia says for the nation to develop, there is the need for Ghanaians to love each other and fight for a common goal.

Speaking at a short ceremony to feed over 500 street hawkers around the Okponglo, Shiashie and the Under-bridge traffic lights in Accra to mark his birthday, he noted that the best way to impact the lives of people is to support them and put smile on their faces in times of need.

The main aim of the foundation is to focus on helping improve education, health, social Interventions, cultural presentations, economic employment, support for persons with disabilities and the poor and needy in the society.

The foundation, since its formation has offered wide range of support to individuals and groups across the country.

For his part, the Executive Director of the foundation, Henry Kwaku Nyanteh Larbi noted that, the gesture forms part of the foundation’s social responsibilities.

“We cannot leave everything to the government to do. Government has so many responsibilities which have become a burden, thus our quest to support those on the street,” he explained.

He called on other philanthropist to emulate the gesture.

Some of the street hawkers who benefited from the program expressed their utmost satisfaction. They however, called on government to improve on the economic conditions in the country.
