Susubiribi goalkeeper Joshua Lamptey, who died in motor accident, laid to rest in Accra

Susubiribi Sporting Club goalkeeper Joshua Lamptey, who died in late November, has been laid to rest in Accra on Saturday.

Lamptey, aged 20, was involved in a fatal vehicular accident on the Accra-Suhum road on Sunday, November 20, 2022 and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Koforidua Regional Hospital where he died after spending 6 days at the facility.

The final burial and funerial rites for the late goalkeeper took place in Chorkor, a suburb of Accra, on Saturday, December 17, 2022. He was laid to rest at the Awudome Cemetery.

Susubiribi bankroller and President George Afriyie together with club officials Martin Yaw Boateng, Emmanuel Akyereko Frimpong, Kwaku Boadu, Jackson Kofi Asare, Lisa Yamoah, head coach Emmanuel Bulley, rest of the technical team and the entire playing body were present to mourn with the family with the former shot-stopper.



Lamptey, who was in between the sticks for Susubiribi in their Matchday 1 game against Krystal Palace at the Akotex Park in Akosombo.

He joined Susubiribi as a free agent before the start of the 2022/23 season.
