The following Ghanaian celebrities have been identified as fans of Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak.

Hearts of Oak and their bitterest rivals Kotoko sharply divide football fans in the West African nation.

Sometimes, the rivalry between fans of the two clubs can get really fierce on social media as they both trumpet each other’s achievements while attacking themselves on their big failures.

Meanwhile, some fans keep their affections for these clubs under the carpet in order not to get into the midst of raging attacks and controversies.

But, these 10 celebrities have gone public with their affection for the Rainbow club.

  • John Dumelo

John Dumelo is a Ghanaian actor, farmer, and politician. On 1 April 2014, he emerged as the first Ghanaian to hit a million likes on Facebook. His parents are Mr. John Dumelo who was a Civil Engineer and Mrs. Antoinette Dumelo a Customs Officer.

  • Mustapha Abdul-Hamid

Mustapha Abdul-Hamid is a Ghanaian politician and lecturer. He is currently the chief executive officer of the National Petroleum Authority. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party.

Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) is a hiplife artist who seems to take great interest in rapping about politics and social issues. He released an album, Freedom of Speech I right before the 2000 elections in Ghana. The hit track, “Mesuro mpo na merekeka yi o” talked about how he was afraid of what he was saying and doing but he was still saying it, in the light of democracy as he lambasted politicians.
