These are the FIVE African countries who have qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Five African countries have sealed their places in the 2022 FIFA World Cup following Tuesday’s second leg games played across the continent.

The Black Stars of Ghana secured one of the available tickets to the World Cup after eliminating Nigeria following a 1-1 drawn game in the second leg to secure qualification on the away goal rule.

Thomas Partey scored for the Ghanaians while defender William Troost-Ekong equalised from the penalty spot for the Super Eagles.

Elsewhere Senegal repeated their AFCON dominance over Egypt by beating them to the sole ticket available in their contest after beating them on penalty shootouts with Mohamed Salah missing a crucial penalty in Dakar.

Meanwhile, Cameroon shocked Algeria by beating them 2-1 at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida to qualify on a superior away goal rule despite the game ending 2-2 on aggregate. Algeria won the first leg 1-0 in Cameroon.

Mali held Tunisia to a 0-0 contest in Rades but Moussa Sissako’s calamitous first-leg goal undid the Eagles as the Cartage Eagles sealed their spot.

Morocco dismantled DR Congo 4-1 to book their place on a 5-2 aggregate scoreline.
