This is how the Group G table looks like after Ghana defeated Zimbabwe 3-1 in Cape Coast
Ghana’s Black Stars recorded their second win in Group G after beating Zimbabwe 3-1 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Captain Andre Ayew and Arsenal midfield dynamo Thomas Partey scored two second-half goals to add to a Kudus Mohammed opener in the 5th minute of the first half.
Knowledge Musona had pecked the scoring 1-1 in the 50th minute before Milovan Rajevac’s men took the game to the opposition.
Prior to the Black Stars’ emphatic win, South Africa had defeated Ethiopia’s Walia Ibex in Addis Ababa by a similar score, 3-1. SuperSport United’s Teboho Mokoena scored first for the Bafana Bafana before Mothobi Mvala of Sundowns and Evidence Makgopa of Baroka scored in the second half for Hugo Broos’ men.
The victory puts South Africa top of Group C with 7 points, having won 2 and drawn 1 while Ghana is second with 6 points.
