UEFA Champions League: Ghanaian attacker Brian Brobbey cameos in RB Leipzig’s heavy loss to Man City

Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker Brian Brobbey came off the bench to cameo for RB Leipzig in their 6-3 battering at the hands of Man City in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

The 19-year-old attacker was introduced on the 72nd-minute mark by Leipzig manager Jesse Marsch in the Etihad Stadium clash.

At the point of his entry into the game, the Bundesliga side were down 4-2 but French player Christopher Nkunku scored to cut down the deficit to 4-3 just a minute after his entry.

But Portuguese Joao Cancelo and Gabriel Jesus scored to firmly put the tie beyond the visitors.

Brobbey joined Leipzig from Ajax Amsterdam where he had already debuted in the competition.

He is open to playing for Ghana at the senior level despite representing the Netherlands at various youth levels.
