VIDEO: Nigeria’s defence is a mess, Black Stars should be able to beat them – African football expert [GTV Sports+ Road to Qatar]

African football expert Jeffrey Asare has predicted victory for Ghana’s Black Stars in case they are paired against Nigeria in the final stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria is one of the FIVE seeded countries along with Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, and Senegal.

The Black Stars will find out which country will face in the final stages when FIFA conducts the draw on December 18, 2021.

Ace Ghanaian journalist Jeffrey Asare, who is an ardent follower of African believes the four-time AFCON winners can edge out their neighbours should they be drawn against them.

“I would prefer Nigeria. The Nigerian team is quality but they have a bad coach in Gernot Rohr. They have a problem with their center-back pair – Balogun and William Troost-Ekong is a big mess in every game they’ve played. They lost to the Central African Republic at home. They have a problem with their goalkeeping. They are inconsistent with that department. So both the goalkeeping and the center-back are problem areas. They don’t have a problem upfront and in the midfield, because Ndidi has recovered and he is back,” he told Abigail Sena Sosu on GTV Sports+’s Road to Qatar show.

Nigeria and Ghana have met 49 times in the past. The Black Stars have emerged winners 21 times while Nigeria has claimed 10 victories with 18 ending in draws.
