[VIDEO] This Black Stars player confirms his place in the Ghana squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup

England-based goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has confirmed his place in the Black Stars squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana coach Otto Addo is set to announce his provision squad for the Mundial and sources close to the corridors of the Ghana FA claim the 47-year-old has submitted a 37-man squad to the football regulatory body in the West African nation.

Ghana Sports Online has predicted a strong 20-man squad likely to be on the plane to Doha later in November with the list now increasing to 21.

Though Addo is keeping his cards close to his chest, some of the players are however are confident of making the final squad for the tournament.

And, one of such players is Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott.

In an interview with ace broadcaster Otuo Acheampong, the 26-year-old has already described the World Cup as ‘the dream come true‘.

The phrase suggests that the former Swindon Town FC guardian already knows his status in the squad and would be facing Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea when the tournament starts.

“The most important one is to represent Ghana at the World Cup. That is the ultimate goal. That is the dream come true. So we are hoping that when we go there we can be as successful as possible,” he said.

Since debuting in a 3–1 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification win over Zimbabwe on 9 October 2021, Wollacott has been the first choice keeper for Ghana and is expected to be named as one of the three goalkeepers for the tournament.
