Ex-WAFA starlet Forson Amankwah cameos in Salzburg pre-season loss to Monaco
Ghanaian youth midfielder Forson Amankwah came off the bench in the second half to feature for Red Bull Salzburg in their 3-1 loss to AS Monaco in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Brenden Aaronson completed a good attack after just six minutes to make it 1-0 for Salzburg but the French Ligue 1 side staged a strong fightback to level the scoring just before half-time.
Salzburg goalkeeper Nico Mantl made a few impressive saves before he had to pick the ball out of the net for a second time in the 65th minute.
Anthony Musaba sealed the victory for Monaco with a strike late into the game.
Former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas started the game for Monaco.
Amankwah joined Salzburg from Ghanaian club WAFA during the winter window but was limited to appearances for the club’s feeder club Liefering who play in the Austrian second-tier league.
