Ghana Premier League: Elmina Sharks beat Kotoko on final day to survive relegation

Elmina Sharks have avoided relegation from the Ghanaian top-flight after edging Asante Kotoko 1-0 at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Sunday afternoon.

The Sharks needed to win to safeguard their place in the top-flight on the final day and they defeated Kotoko with Tahir Mensah scoring the only goal of the game 11 minutes after the break.

The win has lifted Sharks to 41 points though on the same points level with Ebusua Dwarfs, the Elmina-based side secured themselves on a better head to head advantage.

Liberty Professionals and Inter Allies are the other teams who have been relegated from the top-flight.
